They are pretty simple once you figure it out. The wide side slips under the release tab and locks on place with a single motion. I believe the part points down. I can get a photo if you need

we are going out Monday. I will work on it then. Thanks for sharing. The small part down just improved my odds of getting it right much more quickly!

tmacor, I wish I had my trailer here. But, I believe that you connect the end furthest away from you into notches and then push the front part in..

It's one of those things you have to try to see if it's correct. I hope my memory serves me correctly.

I took one of the Baer hinge protectors to my Airstream service rep and he had no idea what it was or what for. He gave it to the "Airstream expert" who also had never seen one.
I e-mailed them the photo of one being installed.
I guess if you sell and service Airstreams, it doesn't mean you know all the tricks. (or the aggravation of the door coming off.)

When I started installing the hinge protectors I kept finding more and more hinges in hidden places. Replacing them would cost a fortune!

As I recall, I hooked the front on, then gave the body of the hinge a good whack with the heel of my hand. It went back on with a "snap!"

A few of my hinges also have come loose. It seems that some on the tiny pins wear down and won’t hold.
As noted in an earlier post, zip ties are a good quick fix. But sad that it’s necessary.
