Very nice additions! I like what you’ve done with Marlin. Thanks for sharing.

For the record - Tommy Bahama and Margaritaville are not the same.

I'm sure most know, but just in case some don't, "Tommy Bahama" is not synonymous with Jimmy Buffet's "Margaritaville". There is zero connection between the two, and while I don't mind Mr. Buffet's music, and in fact enjoy most of it, I don't want to be considered a "Parrot Head" just because I bought a Tommy Bahama Airstream.

Two people named Tony Margolis and Bob Emfield and their wives started Tommy Bahama in 1993 as a clothing line. Their thing is style and fun. Most of their clothing is pretty nice and I especially like their limited edition embroidered shirts. It is their style, not Jimmy Buffet's that was used for the Tommy Bahama Airstream.

Some of you have followed the fridge facelift I did in our TB here:
https://www.airforums.com/forums/f54...of-210296.html

We simply purchased a sheet of the correct laminate and cut it to fit the fridge panels

From the start, we never cared for the original bed comforter. It was too busy and not our taste. We originally kept the bedding out of our Eddie Bauer edition and used it for a while. It was a down comforter with a duvet. Then we found a fern design from Orvis and used it for a while. The challenge, the heavy down comforter with the loose fitting duvet always found its way on the floor at night and was a major PAIN to make the bed in the mornings. I'm one of those guys that I don't do anything without first making the bed.

This week, I came across a Tommy Bahama bedding clearance on Bed, Bath and Beyond and there is a full/queen quilt and sham set called Paradise Fronds in creme that was on a major sale. It is the same pattern on the bathroom walls but all tone on tone stitching. We really love the way it makes the bedroom feel lighter and brighter and airy. It is also a BREEZE to make the bed now. We put the Eddie Bauer comforter in a vacuum bag to have available in case of a furnace fail or a cold night, when we can still pull it out If needed.

Thoughts?

MUCH nicer! It's kind of the polar opposite of the bathroom, and makes the room feel bigger. Nice find!

We’re close to closing on a 2017 27’ Tommy Bahama. Do you just love yours? Final questions I should ask dealer? We’re so excited. We are trading in our 22’ 2020 Caravel that we bought new in Nov after 11 sites we decided it’s too small and at 62 climbing over each other to potty in the middle of the night is not fun.

To us, the Tommy Bahama is perfect. The ONLY trailer I would consider over it is the Classic 33, but I fear it would be so long as to be a more stressful tow.

We had a 25 Eddie Bauer which we loved, but the climbing over one another with the side queen was a pain. The 27 is simply perfect.

Final 2017 TB inspection Wed

So fun reading your excitement we are finalizing our 22’ 2020 Caravel for the TB 27’ just like yours. Any tips for us? Questions to ask? It’s a 2017, but the marlin glassware still has the stickers on it. Is it rude to ask what you paid for it? They wanted 105,000 I offered 100,000 they came back at 101,800. But they gave us 60,000 for our caravel which we paid 66,000 for. We thought that is excellent. Can’t wait to light up the bar! And stock it.

I think you are into the trailer "right" (as they say). And that you got close to what you paid for the Caravel is a testament to the value of an airstream. You're gonna love the TB. Being in ours simply makes us smile.

Well, Marlin got a little techno update this week. Was an inexpensive upgrade. Uses blue tooth or wifi with a supporting app for Android or iOS so I can control the entire heating and cooling zones from my phone. No more going into a cold or hot Airstream!

Took 10 minutes to install.

OK - She is up for sale:

https://www.airforums.com/forums/f53...ee-230652.html

The reasons are spelled out and all related to kids entering college.

That was a nice rig you had!

I have a 19 TB. I love it! However, I'm not sure why Tommy Bahama is calling their logo a Marlin when it is clearly a Sailfish.

Hi we went from a 2020 22’ Caravel to a 2018 TB after just 4 road trips in the Caravel. The bed situation is not for 60+ folks. So we traded it in . We had the window etchings removed while we had it detailed to save us from having to do it not on our time frame when it peeled off. We love the bar! And the ice maker. The bed situation is much better but now that we are spending longer times in it I’m on the hunt for a used 33’ classic. We want the leather recliners. There’s really no where to lounge in the TB we play cards at the table but I hurt my back last trip and there wasn’t a comfortable place outside the bed. Also my husband is a big guy the bathroom is way bigger in the 33’ we will miss the bar and the rear hatch! But the lounge area will make up for it. We will purchase an ice machine. And I will find someone to convert the desk area into a bar. We don’t work but we do drink! PS the wallpaper took a minute to love as well. The leather door pulls need reinforcement we’ve broken a hand full, the screws don’t stay put.
