Awnings on all the Tommy Bahama's I've seen have been power on main and manual back and street side. That's how ours is configured. And Zip Dee.

Good luck on the Zip Dee power awning. I hope it works better than mine...and a lot of other AS owners...

Power awnings are a paid option. I ordered my TB with all manual awnings (which is standard). It seems the dealers that spec these units usually choose the power awning option. I prefer manual (KISS).

May we ask what brand are the lifetime batteries that you moved from the Eddie Bauer?

Lifeline (not Lifetime) - They were put in when we did solar on the Eddie B.

So, while work keeps us from going out like I'd like at this time, but we've identified somethings we like and some things (esthetically speaking) that we didn't like. As mentioned above, we mixed some of the old Eddie Bauer appointments (i.e.: bedding and pillows). We sold the Tommy Bahama bedding. However, we kept the one marlin pillow and the Relax (green/blue) pillow. I found a couple selling their bedding as well and purchased another of the Relax pillows. Because the Airstream represents opportunities to Relax, we felt that this was a good theme for the trailer.

So, I've picked up a few things:

Tommy Bahama alpaca wool throw for the bed. Surprised my wife with this - she loves it.

We added a set of the Relax plates, some Relax glasses, and pitcher. I also found a nice set of the marlin adorned martini glasses, a stainless cocktail shaker, and mini flasks.

We're diggin the Relax - and Make Life One Long Weekend approach of the TB.

Hi...we are considering a 19’ TB. One question we have is that there are little dimples/holes in the vynil on the front window protectors on the one we want. Not a lot, but a few. We have talked to three different dealers with three different answers. Wondering if you have these and if they are an issue.

Well, this is an applique decal - it's applied over a regular tinted lexan. The entire thing is full of holes so you can see out of it.
If you don't care for it, it would be easy to remove.

We didn't have dimples, rather some corners that were curled outward. AS sent me a replacement decal, but I simply haven't had time to remove the old and put on the new (which isn't for the faint of heart - I just happened to installed hood blackouts in the past and I know what's involved).

The truth is our trailer wasn't perfect when we got it new, but I've been to the factory and know how many human hands touch it. We love it - small imperfections and all.

The ones I have look more like road debris or bugs hitting the window.

A Few Customizations Today/ Cedar Closet

So, I was wanting to add a cedar lining to the rear of the Tommy Bahama closet in Marlin.

Home depot had a free shipping special, so I ordered a small piece of cedar (real cedar) plywood.

Cut so it would almost wedge in and be behind all the existing closet trim.

Spoke with the factory on what depth metal screw was safe to use and placed two screws in the middle on the rib support.

30 minutes work - tops.

Wink Shower - second lower holder

My wife has scoliosis. It's not horrible but enough to be annoying for her.
So, she likes to sit when she showers as it helps her back and allows her to shave her legs.
I was able to locate the shower holder type that holds the handheld shower wand up high and placed a second holder down low.

This also helps with the kids as they prefer to sit on the side bench as well.

Up high as provided from the factory:

And down low as I mounted it:

I'm now my wife's hero!

Microwave Slide Stop

So, we had a challenge with our microwave slide. Seems no matter how level we are, it continued to want to slide shut even while we were using the microwave.

So, I ordered a fridge door lock (think old school Airstream Dometic fridge) from Camping World.

I found a place in the slide that worked for the pin to act as a "stop" and mounted it on the inside of the cabinet being careful to use stacked washers to keep the screw from being too long to come through the fantastic wood on the outside.

The result is a great solution to a pesky problem.

The raw fridge stop:

Mounted with the stop holder on the inside of the cabinet.

And doing its job as a microwave stop!

Hope this helps someone else as I've heard a lot complain about this.

Details:

Ordered this:

Columbia Forest Products 1/4 in. x 4 ft. x 4 ft. PureBond Aromatic Cedar Plywood Project Panel (Free Custom Cut Available)

Store SKU #1000337293

It was $43.64 for the sheet. Would have been insane shipping but they were running a free shipping promotion the day I ordered so shipping was free.

I cut the sheet to the rear of the closet dimensions but allowed it to be a tight tolerance so it would be a tight fit. I cut the height slightly long as there was a 1/4 in. gap behind the top shelf, so I tucked it behind that gap at the top. There are two pieces of trim already on each side of the closet, but they are graduated. I knew if I applied pressure, the piece would "snap" in on each side. I only used the two screws in the middle to keep the middle tight to the wall.

The only part of this that took any time was my getting to it. Once I started, it took literally 30 minutes.
