1977 Airstream Argosy Minuet 6.0 metre 20 foot
All appliances work. Completely ready for a cross country camping adventure.
Smallest model Argosy manufactured
Tows easily and will fit about anywhere.
Original specs say dry weight of only 2450 pounds and dry hitch weight of 400 pounds.
Easily towed with most 6 cylinder engines.
This model has the aluminum subfloor, so no wood to ever worry about replacing.
Currently has a permanent bed up front with custom mattress, but still have all the hardware and cushions to install the convertible dinette back in it.
What was done to trailer before I got it:
-Water heater was replaced in 2010.
-zip dee awning was installed in 2010.
-Upholstery has been recovered in heavy duty fabric with nice piping. All cushion covers have zippers for easy removal and cleaning if needed. Upholstery is in great shape with no rips or stains.
-Has been repainted at some point. Paint is still shiny and in good shape, so I’d guess the 2010 owner probably had this done as well, but not certain.
-Toilet was replaced with a Thetford aqua magic V.
What I have done to trailer since 2015:
-Replaced original axle with brand new dexter axle with nev-r-adjust brakes. This restored the original suspension travel and ride height
-new shocks
-Installed new tires
-Installed new 7 wire trailer harness with molded plug
-Replace original univolt with a progressive dynamics 45 amp multi stage convertor.
-Replaced original
12v fuse box
-Upgraded to two very large Group 31 sealed AGM
12v deep cycle batteries and added a display system to monitor battery level and usage.
-(2017)Added 4 new BAL stabilizer jacks. These are the good jacks specifically for airstreams with the extended rod so you don’t have to reach far under the trailer
-(2017)removed screen from door and installed tinted acrylic panels (keeps conditioned air in the trailer)
-(2017)Replace the 20lb propane tanks with 30lb aluminum tanks (polished)
-(2018)Replaced original suburban furnace with a new suburban furnace that has automatic electronic ignition. New furnace also has a front and side vents, so heat now goes to front and rear of trailer.
-(2018)Replace the original tongue jack with an electric tongue jack (also comes with back up crank handle)
-(2018)Removed all bathroom components to fix cracks in the plastic and then repainted the shower basin, plumbing cover, toilet base, cabinet and sink with Tough as Tile paint, and added newer faucets/handles.
-(2018)Replaced all copper plumbing with pex.
-(2018)replaced original vent fan with a fantastic fan
-(2019)installed custom mattress for bed (rather than having to use individual cushions from dinette)
-(2019) replaced both grey and black valves and changed the end fitting from thetford style to valterra style, so you know longer have to use the adapter on the sewer hose.
-(2019) replaced rooftop A/C with an atwood air command (extremely quiet).
-(2019) added a propane port behind axle for grill or firepit.
