...if you warm your towel by a heat register.
...if you had a flat panel TV and Blue-ray player in your trailer before you had them in your home.
...if you own an Airstream at all.

If your "tent" is riveted together...you MIGHT be a glamper.

If you worry more about polishing and corrosion than camping, you might be a glamper. Jim

"Heat registers" may be a southern term, but I don't necessarily think so-
Heat register = supply vent or grill-Click image for larger version

Those round white things right there at the bottom of that cabinet- I have seen brown ones in some trailers...

Heat registers are definitely glampy, glampish, or glamperish...

In my case... muffins!

If I get an Airstream, I might be glamping when I insist on taking my bread machine and Vitamix. Besides bread, pizza dough is the primary reason for the machine. Having freshly made and baked pizza with a glass of cabernet sauvignon would be the ultimate expression of glamping for me!

You are definitely a glamper if...

You have Scandinavian style heated towel racks sporting made order Turkish Pestemal towels in colors that coordinate with your artisinal glass sink and hand hammered bronze base.

You travel with a stand alone ice maker.

Your rope lights are rolled and stored in zippered and piped tapestry covers that just settle in with the other throw pillows on your gaucho when not in use.

You host a single malt tasting at the annual "No Evidence Rally"

Your "prep for camping trip" to do list looks like this:
1. Pick up swiffer refills to dust trailer skin @ rally. (great for removing pine pollen)
2. Order organic coffee beans at local roaster
3. Pick up camping clothes at Dry-cleaners
4. Stop at winery for food pairing advice and 'supplies"
5. Double check Filson order and get expedited shipping if needed
6. Pickup custom designed rack cards at printers (the ones that you hand to folks taking a trailer tour that explain about the restoration designer, your role in color selection, etc and of course so they'll have the link to your newly redone glampers blog)
7. Pickup fresh flowers at florist and a new vase that matches your Aluminum cooler "coffee table". Don't forget to set these up just outside your trailer at the rally this time!

While shopping for a new home the priority is:
1. Airstream compatible acreage and drive.
2. Large garage for the accessories.
3. House.

Wow!!!! Janet, I'm laughing out loud at that list! Please tell me that's not from your personal experience! :-D

DanB - you are Soooooo right! Let me add....

If you walk your dog around the neighborhood and think about offers to make on houses whose lots are better equipped to park your trailer - so long as you could hire a construction company to lay a concrete foundation circular driveway and build a barn midway in the circle for your trailer, you MIGHT be a glamper :-)

If you spend hours on Etsy and Ebay using the search term "glamping" to decorate your Airstream!

...you mow the grass around the Airstream first...
As long as the Airstream looks good, who cares about the rest...

"If your idea of roughing it is the ice maker is acting up" You're a glamper. (That actually was me for a few years.)

Heh, we are currently discussing the next property we want to move into for the rest of our life, and that is EXACTLY the priority. Add a nice view as part of #1 per my wife...

I need the garage for the power and hand tools necessary to support the Airsteam and do the house modifications...

The house is something I simply get to fix to her taste, as usual...she designs it, I build it to suit...been that way for 43 years, so we must be doing something right.

Somebody's been watching us walk our dog around the neighborhood! There's one cul-de-sac that for some odd reason isn't part of the HOA. Two homes there have level driveways that would be *perfect* for parking a 27FB. Every time we walk by, I hope to see a "For Sale" sign.

We just purchased about 4 acres and are working on our plans. BIG BARN and small home! Our list includes of course parking for the Airstream, small a/c area next to Airstream for off loading things from Airstream that we don't want in there but still want to keep in controlled environment (this area will also house our Christmas decorations. Sewer dump area, 30 amp, I'm sure there are a few other things on my husband's list. Me...I'm happy with a smaller home. I would rather be camping when I'm not working than having to spend time cleaning a house!!

We would like to do something similar. Maybe live in the trailer and have a pretty big out building for washer/dryer and storage. I want off the hamster wheel/out of the rat race. I want out of property tax, insurance, maintenance and upkeep, yard work, and declining property values.

If your first order of business upon arriving at the all inclusive, full hookup, rv park site you reserved a year in advance, is to chill martini glasses and stuff olives with blue cheese.... You might be a glamper.
