When you aren't on the road...

When your AS is sitting out back, or in the driveway, or wherever you park it between trips, do you just go out and sit in it?
Call me goofy or whatever but I really enjoy having it near my home. Sometimes I'll go out there in the evening and enjoy a beer, take a book to read, or play my guitar. I might putter with little repairs or changes, but mostly I really do enjoy just being in my camper.

Mine sits in storage a short distance away.

I park it in front of the house in warmer weather to work maintenance stuff on it, make improvements, etc.

I still stop by and open it up to see how it's doing...

Since it's my 'Silver Ham Shack', when I get the self-raising antenna system rigged up, I plan to spend a little more time in it yakking on the radio...

Smile airstream time

Very lucky to be able to park our Airstream at our house with full hookups. We are in it every day. Great to be able to give it the love and attention it deserves on a daily basis. Easy to pack for trip. Leaving for Land Yacht Harbor in Melbourne, Florida on Thursday morning. Can hardly wait! Happy travels!

I park mine in an RV park. I can't be on the road as often as I'd like, but every single weekend I hang out at the Airstream and do... nothing. Sure, I have the little project here and there, the "honey do" list, but mostly nothing. And that's exactly how I like it...

I'm fortunate in that my Airstream is an Interstate class B motorhome. Even when I'm not going camping somewhere, I'll hop in every couple of weeks (or more often) and drive it somewhere, even if it's just to buy groceries. So I never suffer from Airstream Separation Anxiety™.

Interesting thread....I've had "ASS" (Airstream Separation Syndrome) quite badly since moving "Milley" to "undercover storage". When it gets really bad I make it a point to drive the 30 miles to pay her a visit. Now that winter is coming on pretty hard here in the northern rockies I've already started my "countdown" to mid March when I plan to bring her back home and start preparation for our 3rd season together. It's a bummer to not have her close to home.

Nothing goofy about this behavior at all. We not only go out and sit in our FC and read but also play cribbage, backgammon, watch Netflix and have spend almost as many nights sleeping in our driveway as we have out camping. We LOVE our AS.

We haven't had a TV in the house for years. However, the Airstream came with a TV, and is parked in our backyard. So for a few things, like the presidential debates or the Super Bowl that we really want to watch, we go out to the Airstream with our wine, crackers, and brie and make an evening of it.

Ditto- we love our driveway campouts with the grandkids; I love to go out and read, listen to the radio, and solve world problems in that 'peace' of aluminum

My baby is in the backyard, and if I'm in it while it's here, it's usually because I'm fixing something. Though we have retreated to it a couple times when the power went out, because it still had lights and heat when the house did not.

My AS sits a few feet away from my office. So i am able to enjoy it almost daily. It just feels right in there.

I imagine I step foot inside somewhere in excess of 300 days a year.

I had never really thought about that before now.

I sometimes have the same problem with my Android phone. Last time it happened, I even tried saving the photos to my laptop and making sure they were oriented right-side up there first, but as soon as I attached them to a post here, they went sideways again.

Glad to know I'm by no means an out-lier with my attachment to my AS. We live in Tucson next door to a resort that people come to from all over the country. They hang out by the pool, walk in the desert, they pay good money to come here and do all things I get to do every day at home. We're even talking about getting 30 amp service out to Hilton and adding a hot tub nearby just like your photo.

I love this thread. We currently store our Airstream about 20 minutes away at an inside facility. We live in a community with a strict HOA. We have discussed downsizing to a smaller home without an HOA in order to have Stella at the house. My husband loves to tinker and do little repairs, I just like to read and relax. When we come home from a trip we park her on the driveway, I do my cleaning, and then I usually sit in the Airstream for awhile before we have to return it to the storage place.
