Watching folks back up can be vey funny..

I donít often repost ads, and especially not from Volkswagen, the corporation that engaged in public health endangering fraud on a high scale, but this is pretty funny...

Watching others back up a trailer is very entertaining. I can watch at a boat ramp all day for entertainment. Some people are so well organized and efficient, and some make for a good laugh. I also like watching campers come and go from their campsites for the same reason. Sometimes I'm the one providing the laughs even though I am very experienced at backing up trailers. There are just some sites where a tree is in exactly the wrong spot or the site is at a bad angle. I'm sure we've all been entertainment for others at times in the past.

Backing up (or not)

Video made my day! About 2 million miles driving Class 8 tractor trailers so backing up is not a problem. When I lived in Naples, Fl. I used to go to the marina down the street on weekends for entertainment. You see some unbelievable things. So far I have not destroyed anything backing up the Airstream, but never say never. Happy travels.

I find it hard to watch when people are having trouble backing into a site. Our last camping trip an older couple was trying to get their TaB trailer backed into a very easy site and took them over half an hour, I wanted to go help them in the worst way but not sure how they would respond to a stranger offering to back in their trailer. My typical procedure is to stop in front of my new site and get out and access my options, where do I want the door? level conciderations etc. Well I had a guy camped next to our new site as we came in and seeing me look over the situation proceeded to tell me how I should arrange myself in the site as if I had no clue. It was very hard to bite my tongue and be polite.

VW is very good at cheating, although I don't blame them for putting one over on the stupid EPA nonsense. Here is another example, and how they made the great ad for their back-up assist:

I love to entertain my fellow campers - I think providing people with reasons to laugh and smile is good for the soul! I always say to myself - been there done that - karma

Cleverly done. It just shows lots of creativity marketing a decent towing feature.

Iíll stick with my fleet of Toyotas anyway...it doesnít take me too many tries to back the Airstream...

Ford trucks has offered the trailer assist for a few years but this is the first I've seen it in anything else. Personally I think I'd find it confusing and not sure it would work with a long RV trailer but for short trailers AND inexperienced drivers I think it just might work well. Nicely done

My TA has two legs and adequate amplitude. 🤔

Without my TA, I'm slow enough that folks lose interest long before embarrassment sets in. 👍

Talking you laughing at me?

Since I am new to trailering and airstreaming and heading out on my first camping trip this weekend...I expect to elicit a few chuckles.

as long as I can laugh at myself, I am ok with it. I figure I will get it... eventually!
