Let me jump in here and suggest you get a memory foam mattress topper if you don't like the compression / sleepability of the Airstream supplied mattress. I always go to Costco or similar big box store to get a 3" memory foam mattress topper large enough to cut it down to size to fit over the supplied mattress. Then it sleeps almost like my Tempur-Pedic King bed at home.
I have heard A/S is furnishing better mattresses these days. But don't know if that's true or not. Maybe someone else on this blog can answer that.
But this is my cheap solution over having a custom designed mattress which are available from Texas Mattress Makers down in Houston (I'm not promoting them I'm just saying there are folks - like sail boat suppliers - who know how to build custom curve mattresses that go around curves, electrical tubes, plumping pipes etc.
All the Best.
