Home Base Questions-Your Thoughts

My wife and I are toying with the idea of moving from Florida to some place more centrally located to our children and friends. We're both retired and work part time but still get our moneys worth out of our Airstream. We'd like to find somewhere not too cold in the winter if possible. Not a deal breaker because we'll head somewhere warmer than. We've looked into central to western Tenn. but thats just a start. We like the small town feel but like the convenience of shopping like everyone else. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. FYI,our children live in Colorado,Iowa, and Georgia. We're not helicopter parents just would like to see the grandkids once in awhile.

Western NC is quite nice. Doesn't get too cold relatively I'm
From New England) or too hot. That's where I will end up. Closing on a property at the end of the month in fact if you need a place to park . Google Saluda, it's adorable.

We lived in Calif, Florida, and Tenn and then returned to north half of Minnesota for gorgeous Spring, Summer, and Fall climate and great lake country and small town life and people. Winters are extremely cold, we leave with our Airstream in Oct to visit friends and relatives all over the country, taking a different route each year to settle for a few months in the South or Southwest, then head back in April. We enjoy outdoor activities of all kinds so this works pretty good.
