Tree damage repair costs?

Hello, a friend of a friend has an 32’ 1993 airstream classic that got damaged in a bad storm. A neighbor’s tree fell on it damaging two front corner panels pretty badly, plus a small window and the vent needs replacing.

How much do you think repairing this damage would cost me?
What is a reasonable price to pay for this airstream— all systems/cabinetry etc. is in good working order. Just damaged areas are the issues.

Thanks a lot to anyone who can help!

Depending on where you are located there are repair facitlities throughout the US. If you travel a lot you can go with the best quote. Vinnies airstream in Calif does repairs also.

From the pics, it looks like at least 2 outside panels require replacement. The panels themselves are approximately $2300 each. Based on that, $6k-$8k is in the ballpark.

I would wonder why the neighbor's insurance is not looking after the repairs?

Check with OutofDoorsMart, and the panel prices are approx $700 each, plus freight. It does not look like any structural damage to the ribs, but that must be checked upon panel removal. Finding a competent shop to repair will be the hardest part. I would get in touch with Colonial Airstream for a price to repair.

Not cheap - 8-10 would be my guess and make sure the repair is done by a competent Airstream panel repair/replace shop like Vinnies

$6 to $8K sounds like a reasonable ballpark. The fact that interior surfaces were damaged too does complicate matters.

Your neighbor's property insurance should be Step 1. Your own insurance on the Airstream should be Step 2.

Nice trailer BTW!

If you mean the owner of the tree, I don't think their insurance will pay. It would be up to the insurance of the owner of the trailer. I'm sure there will be an insurance agent or someone who has been through this who can comment.

We just had two upper corner front panels replace this fall. Northbay Airstream. Great job. $2300 per panel without any inside damage or structural damage. Expect a wait to get it on anyone’s schedule. You can receive quotes from any dealer that does panel repairs routinely. Once the AS was on the schedule the actual work only took 8 hrs of labor per panel. $labor towards $150 an hour. Northbay has an inventory of panels. Do not use a dealer that has to send for panels. Of course you can go to the factory.
By the way, we drove 1000 miles to this dealer. Very good experience. We originally had an appointment at the factory but at the height of the pandemic and we were concerned about not having the AS for a couple of days. We did not know if it could be finished in a day and knew we would have to find a hotel. We were pleased with our repairs at Northbay

Whatever it costs it will not be cheap. I had to have a side panel replaced and it cost $10,500.

Lucky the piano window didn't break. That window alone is over $1000.

If you send these photos to Airstream, they will give you amazingly accurate estimate that would match up almost perfectly with what your insurance adjustor would provide. My input based on what happened to me.
