Picked up an A/S on a whim
I bought two Airstreams on my way from work last week, on a whim. Then I had to figure out how to get them home. I used the Expedition to haul one, and the F-150 for the other.
Happy New Year!

I see that you bought them down by the tracks. That's a rough neighborhood. Are you sure they aren't hot? Have the serial numbers been filed off?

I was approached by an individual in a trenchcoat, offering a great deal on a pair of Airstreams. After I declined, he got into a Hot Wheels car, and rolled off...
Seriously, are those trailers actually close enough to HO size to use, or are they waaay too big?

Terry, they look like a set I recently got on e-bay, made by Busch. Mine has the same trailer, but a 60's Buick tow vehicle. HO size, matching in size to the HO trains.

Yes, they are HO scale, and made by Busch of Germany like Uwe said. They are called "American Style Trailers", probably to avoid licensing issues. I got the "Trailer Park" set, because I had no need for an early 60's Buick. My model railroad is more modern. The Expedition is made by Walthers, and the pickup is from Atlas.
I'm going to paint a few details on them (lights, etc), and also try and put some WBCCI numbers on the front and back. When my club's layout is at shows, it will be interesting to see how many people notice the "vacationers" with their vintage trailers .

Atlas also makes 1996-1999 vintage Taurus's, maybe I can put in a good word with some of the people at Atlas, and they can build an HO Windstar, or Intrepid, for our Canadian friends to tow their HO scale Sovereigns with .
I have a pair of N scale Airstreams for my other hobby, they are kits that require assembly and paint, however.

Now very easy to find
We liked these little models so much we put them in our store. The detail on these tiny little 3 ˝” replicas is amazing. Great gift for any Airstreamer.
