I am a Ham - my callsign is KD8VD. I became a member of ARC
The WBCCI Amateur Radio Club expecting to see quite a bit of interest in Ham Radio in Airstreams, but todate the activity if Zero.
I probably will not renew my membership unless there is some activity in the club.

VE4 IF in Winnipeg. Haven't been active for a few years but I have just bought a Yaesu 817 and am trying to figure out how make it work. In the summer I'm in Thompson, Manitoba where I live in my Airstream.

Thumbs up Echolink

Dr Joe and all,
Echolink is a small program that is useable only by a licensed ham radio operator. It allows you to cross-link or in some cases link directly to the vhf or hf band via the internet. Thus the reason why you must be a licensed ham.
I've tried it and, it works very nicely~!
http://www.echolink.org/el/register_data.asp
All you need to do is registered first and, then download the program.
The registeration is for the purpose of validation of your ham license..BEST OF ALL, IT'S FREE~!

Lightbulb Node

Greetings..
If anyone would like to try out ECHOLINK..
Look for my NODE number which is 45216
Each one that register is assigned a Node number..Look for it on the far right hand side of the contact menu.

Lightbulb Look out

Dr Joe,
Under the top menu you'll see a "Bell" icon..I've listed you on my alarm online list there..Just to help increase our chances of connecting..
Really sounds like you're having a Blast with it~!

Echolink

Hi Vern and Igor
Great - I understand that a station will only show up on the station list if ON the air - But listing on the Alarms is great and we will connect! I agree. this would be great to unit a fraternity of A/S Hams on this program. Since I have been the Airstream ARC(Amateur RadioClub) I have seen no activity - this would be a great activator for interest - I had actually decided that being a member of the A/S ARC was pointless if there was little or no activity on the net. This program is so convenient and easy to use-beats the static and problems with radio and amp for sure.

Unhappy Ref:Firewall

Yep

That's the problem. If you research it, I know that you can find the fix, which will allow you to keep it up and, still be able to use it. If you like, I can help try to find it for you. (the info) Let me know.
