Just thought it was intresting and wanted to ask. SquareStream Huh? Guess they got creative around that time. Must not have been that big a hit since they didnt stick with it. Thanks for the info.

it's in Seward, Alaska. If I remember my geography correctly, Seward is a loooong ways from just about every other state in the union. Last I heard there was another country called Canada between Alaska and the "outside".... its full of some really nice, friendly people called Can-a-dee-ans. Their hobby is fixing tires, repairing broken auto engines and selling expensive gas to people who buy AS's in Alaska.

We don't see many AS for sale up here, this is only the second one I've seen in the past six months. The other was listed as a "redo needed" . Anywho, if someone is really interested and would like an professional opinion, let me know and I will try to hook up with the owners and give you my back of the match book appraisal. Keep in mind that it is a pricey haul from Alaska to every place else in the world which should be a consideration before you purchase. "an unprofessional".....meaning, I am an owner of an AS, but I am not a qualified inspector/appraiser or professional anything...I can only offer a qualified opinion. Example: kick the tires, listen for squeaks, see if there is anything in the refrigerator, shake hands with the owner and other not so technical observations and highly suspect opinions. Besides, its another excuse to go fishing in Seward.....not that I need an excuse, mind you.

Yep - Looks like a '54 Safari before the pull out step was added mid year. I'd be interested if I didn't already have a '55 Safari.

this is an interesting one, a 1966 that looks like it has jelousie windows everywhere, maybe its just a weird mod to get curved glass, I'm not sure.

No...it’s not an RV oasis...you’re really looking at the extremely rare Avion C-10 “Slide-In” camper. Avion was a direct competitor to Airstream and some say made a better RV. This is the model C-10 which I understand started production in 1966. I understand Avion made a C-11 which was a foot longer.

This RARE BIRD has an extremely nice outer skin which I feel is the most important consideration when buying a vintage Avion or Airstream. Inside the camper needs to be revived. Its all there and original but paint is pealing and the laminate is pealing off the cabinets. It needs a good cleaning.

There is sleeping up top for two and I think the table drops to make another bed. The original oven and ice box are untested. The original mini bottles for propane are there in a side compartment and there is a holding tank for water.

There is a small bathroom with a toilet, sink and even a shower. Very cool!!! The camper is sitting on a very nice vintage Dodge Power Wagon bed with a 3/4 Ton axle. It’s included in the auction but can stay if not needed and a $400 credit will be giving.

I understand these Avion’s we’re only made in the hundreds back in the 60’s. No telling how many are left these days. It looks pretty easy to bring this wonderful old camper back to life. Since there’s no wheels I’m not sure if there was ever titles but I received a “bill of sale” and that’s what you’ll receive.

These things are not so rare. I find 'em all over.....left over from the 60's and 70's truck camper phase. Nice ones are hard to find...the others are just as hard to refurbish as you Airstream. The one in San Antonio is a mess.
