Angry having difficulty renting an Airstream

Would someone out there please tell me where I can rent an Airstream anywhere in this country? I have looked everywhere on the Net and have struck out. Have any leads out there?

Helpless in Ohio...

Unfortunately, Airstream "motels" like Shady Dell and another one in Wildwood, NJ are the only places we know of where you can "rent" an Airstream. But you won't be going anywhere with it!

Dealers will not rent them for a variety of good reasons, including liability, tow vehicle concerns, and cost.

Since launching the magazine, we have had several calls from people about this issue. I've checked with dealers and restoration shops. If you are considering buying one, may we suggest you rent a "SOB" (Some Other Brand) trailer or motorhome for a week, and then you'll see why you want to buy an Airstream!

Question Which one

lloyd cicetti
While Shari has given you an excellent "stationary solution" in that, those units are for rent while in place. I'm thinking you're looking for something to take with you while traveling. Is that correct?
It might be helpful if you list your objectives.
1. How long will you require an Airstream?
2. Are you looking for a self contained unit or a trailer?
3. If a trailer, do you have the proper experience and, setup for towing it?
4.What are you willing to pay for the use of it?
These are but a few question.
While I'm not renting my unit out.. You might find someone on this forum who would if they understood what you're needs are.
Such as, renting it with the thought of buying it afterwards..That might be a avenue for you to contemplate.

ciao

Renting an RV in general seems expensive and that's for an SOB (some other brand). Even if you could rent an Airstream, I could see the price being 2x what a normal RV fetches anytime of year.

Renting

Lloyd,

Buy a video camera and set up a movie production company with youself as executive producer. Hire a bunch of actors, a director and associate producer. Rent a fleet of Airstreams to use as dressing rooms. Your associate producer will know how to do this. Get one for yourself. Leave the associate producer in charge while you take off on vacation. Your production company will take care of liability issues.

Lightbulb Just saw this..

If you are interested in trying out the airstream experience, try a
week or so in a rental. I have several units available throughout
the year in the Orlando area. You chose and book the location and
we deliver a 30 foot Airstream Excella to your location within the
Orlando area. If you wish to venture further afield in Florida, a
delivery charge is added. The airstream is fully equipped and air
conditioned. Most of the units are circa 1970's and have been
restored and modernized. Rates vary by location and needs, but for
a unit which sleeps six, the rates start around $115 a night off
season and $140 in season. Add your camp ground nightly fee to that
rate and you can see that your vacation not only gives you freedom
but a very reasonable rate. e mail me for more details.
This is the email if interested..No, it's not me..lol
