Thumbs up GM: The official tow vehicle for Airstreams! :)

Anyone seen the Chevy website for the Suburban? Notice what it's towing??

On this link, it looks like a Safari/Bambi, but the door is on the street side? That unit looks as if it's a '99 or newer...I didn't think they had a street side main door unless could it be custom?

Here is what looks to me like a Classic.

So GM is the official tow vehicle for Airstream?

Notice!!!

Notice!
The goobers have the DOOR on the STREET side???
The pic is inverted.....LOL....
Obviously the Airstream is not the official tow vehicle for the AD AGENCY!!!!
Looks like a cut and paste job and that the trailer was never actually hooked up.

The Caddy WAS the recommended tow vehicle in the 60's. Suburbans have been the tow vehicle of choice for many years in the AS community. Ford did a real good job of offering options with the excursion and expedition, so now there is quite a mix.

The story goes like this:

At least once per International Rally the comm center gets a call from the children of a member. The kids do not know the WBBCI Number of the rig but want an urgent message to be sent to their parents. Invariably they say, "They are out there in a Silver Airstream towed by a blue suburban" That narrows it down to only 60% of the attendees.

On the picture I would bet it is a photoshopped negative that has been flipped and then melded onto the rear of the 'burb.

I have seen the Ford TV commercial towing an Airstream also.
There is a VW TV spot also with an Airstream.

Good Question is now who is really the offical tow vehicle?

Ok, I've seen tv ads with a VW Beatle attempting to pull an airstream, bad idea. And succesfully pulling one with the Toureg, good idea.

04 Sierra brochure page 7.....

My 04 GMC Sierra brochure shows a 2500 HD towing an AS with triple axles. The door is on the right side.
