Aluminum clad Wanderlust and DVD

The new book arrived this afternoon. The aluminum sleeve is gorgeous! Had to have been manufactured in the shop. The bonus DVD is chock full of vintage Airstream. Films included on DVD are as follows:

'Building Dreams Is Our Business' (1968) Length -19:04
'Capetown to Cairo' (1959-60) Length - 48:04
'Mexico Caravan' (1957) Length 24:37
'Guatemala' (1966) Length - 24:53

Package was pricey at $99. As long as the book spine holds up it's worth every penny. Frankly, the video was worth the money alone - book is a bonus.

Received mine today too. Super cool, and well done. The picture on the front of the book is framed by the rivited Classic style window frame in aluminum. Is the DVD sealed in the book? I havent broken the plastic on the book yet because I have another copy and the DVD wasn't in the box.

Call Airstream to order. I don't think you can order them from their online store. It is a limited edition with a nice aluminum plaque on the front with the number engraved. I have 181, I don't know what total production is limited to.

I'm wrong, you can order on line. I put my name on a list for the book awhile back.At the time they total me there were only four other people on the list. When it gets out just how nice they are, I'll bet they go fast.

my package is *179*

finished watching three of the four videos. so far 'Building Dreams' is the best by far. 'Guatemala' is more a travel piece on the country versus any heavy Airstream content. 'Mexico' was okay - but again not enough Airstream. 'Capetown' is up next. fingers crossed that my aluminitis jones is fixed in this film.

Whoa, this is the first i've heard of that. i'm sitting here watching and wondering if a trip like that could be possible in this day and age. politics over there are a bit sticky in some parts. i guess an armor plated humvee with gun turret would be the tow vehicle of choice ;-)

can wait to hear more details about that trip. joking aside, it would be epic.

Rivet Nice gesture, AIRSTREAM!

Without solicitation or ordering, we received a hardbound cover edition of Wanderlust today. I am certainly pleased with this! Jackets? They'll get here before we can wear something that light again... I will let the letter enclosed with the book speak for itself:

Quote:
Dear Airstreamers,

Congratulations on the purchase of your 2006 Airstream! Since your unit was built during this, our 75th Anniversary product year, we are pleased to present you with a copy of Wanderlust -- Airstream at 75, which details the rich history of this iconic American brand. We hope that this book brings you hours of reading pleasure, and that your Airstream brings you a lifetime of travel and adventure.

Travel well,
Bob Wheeler

Good job again -- Thank you!
