I wasn't sure which exterior restoration forum to post this question - hope I made the right choice.
As I was loading my Olive for a trip over Memorial Day I noticed mega discoloration streaks running down her sides. I know this wasn't there during my last trip! She is parked on the west side of the house, under a huge old oak tree. She gets full west sun on her streetside but limited sun on her curbside. However, the discoloration seems equal on both sides. The streaks seem to originate in areas where water may *pool* - edged of windows, emblems, molding, etc. We have had a lot of rain recently and, my oaks have also just dropped their leaves and deployed their pollen stems!
Could the acidic nature of the oak leaves be causing this to discoloration with the rain run-off? I first thought maybe the window gaskets were causing it - but it's also streaming from the moldings. It won't come off with a rag or mineral spirits. It looks blue-black in color and is still shiny. Any ideas?
