Stone Guard/ Keep it or Remove it?

Is this stone guard a desirable item? Looks kinda ugly. I guess I could polish it up. The body behind it is perfect. Was this an option? I would rather have a window cover. It would really look goofy if I had both guards don't you think?

It depends on where you plan to tow. Lots of back country, gravel roads I wold keep it. I did not have a lower rock guard on my 77 Sovereign but you could see the wear from rocks etc. I had the rock guard over the front window. I think it is a better option as the windows are big $$$$.

The rock guard looks fine to me, it's there to keep the skin from getting dinged up not to be stylish. I would put on on the front window too you'll wish you had if the window eats a rock.

Polish it up. They look pretty cool all nice and shiny. This is also going to stop that 65 mph rock from denting the shell.

Keep it!

Flying gravel is a fact of life here in Texas. The gravel guard is a must-have option for me.

I would polish it up and keep it.

If you want small dents throughout the front of your trailer then by all means remove it. I have a rock guard over my front window but none over the front lower panels. I have had 4 new dents in the front panels that have made me sick. They will stick out like a sore thumb when I polish my trailer. I'm sure you will feel the same way once you drive through gravel and later hit the blacktop. A rock thrown from a tire at 60-65 wrecks havock with soft aluminum skin. Just my 2 cents worth. Craig

Personally I would keep the stone guard.

Considering if mine ever got too ugly or took a big hit, I could replace them. I think the cost of replacing the stone guard is a lot less than removing and replacing a front panel.

Another reason

I do not have a guard like your pic. And I lost a tire (right rear) on my van the last time I towed. The tread flew off. It was an older tire with tread and a warrantee. And it did not cover damage to my van or the beauty mark on my bullet. Just got a new tire

what do you suppose a lower stone-guard would cost? I'd assume that model #/size of the trailer shouldn't matter much...they all look the same from the front! just curious...perhaps I'll add one, if they don't cost an arm and a leg.... Oh, and how do they attach?

Check www.inlandrv.com. I believe they have them in stock. I priced them at one time but have forgotten what they run.
