Moving hitch to a new truck
I know I've seen similar questions before, but I'm about to move from the Tundra to a Silverado 2500. How do I make sure my hitch ball is at the right height? I have a Reese dual cam hitch. Right off I'm a little leery about a DIY job as I don't have wrenches for those large bolts. Heck I might need different parts from Reese.
The first thing I'd do is measure from the top of the 2" opening in each truck's hitch receiver to the ground. That'll give you a pretty good idea of how much the drop of the hitch head has to be on each truck to get the top of the ball at the same height.
