Ford incentive

I received an email regarding a significant incentive from my Ford dealer. Wondering if this is widespread or just me because I've bought two new Fords in the last 17 months. Must order or accept delivery by April 4. Excludes a few models such as F-150 Lightning and F-150 Raptor. Includes Super Duty and Expeditions.

Looks legit. The email includes my Ford points balance.

Best bet is to call your dealer. If you decide to take advantage of one of these "ECO" or "PCO" (Exclusive Cash Offer? Preferred Customer Offer?) - as I've seen them called on the Ford sites - make sure you get any assurances in writing before you commit to the order. A few folks have reported last minute shenanigans when it was time to take delivery.

And "Take Delivery" is likely months out, given the supply/demand. If the salesperson you met with takes another job somewhere, the written commitments will rule.

Key component: Must take delivery by April 4. I guess I would want to know what that means? Maybe they want the 2021's out, so that you have to order 2022's. Personally doesn't make much sense to me. Drove by a Ford lot the other day and there wasn't much there. What are the going to sell you?

I bought my 2020 with that email. Saved quite a bit. I think at the time it was $2500. And I ordered mine. So maybe it means you just have to order. But again Ford is shutting down plants because of no chips. You might get your 2022 in 2023.

Take delivery or submit an order and "Exclusive cash reward" is the verbiage in the email.

Dealers are hurting. I wonder if orders have slowed because folks know they can't get it. And the only way to get one built and delivered to the dealer is to have a verified customer order.

My 2022 F-250 was delivered in under two months in summer of 2021. Things could have changed. Besides, other than wishing I'd ordered diesel, I'm happy with my truck and its ~3000# of payload.

It would be interesting to know if anyone has received a new 2022 Ford truck in the last couple of months. When mine was delivered the adaptive steering chip was causing delays; but I didn't order that option.

Fungus - I think we communicated some last fall on this. I ordered last July and it did turn into a big delay due to adaptive steering. I was given the option to drop it but decided not too as I wanted the feature to help make DW as comfortable driving the bigger truck as possible. The dealer tried to get me to order another without adaptive steering and then I could have my pic which shows just how much they want people to place orders. My truck was finally built last November then it sat until year end waiting for a chip. I just took delivery 2 weeks ago so it took me right at 6 months start to finish. I did get diesel and so far pleased with the mileage but I have not towed the Airstream yet. I got a great trade-in for my F150 and by ordering I was able to avoid the $10K gouge most dealers are applying to F250's around here. My dealer and salesmen were great and my heart goes out to the people working at these places as I am not sure how they make a living right now. I think the dealership owners are doing fine as they are making plenty off the high sales prices even though they sell fewer. I have not received any emails lately about incentives, however, I did get a $1,000 Ford incentive on my order which the dealer matched.

Last February I when purchased my F250 2021 I was given a $ 1.5K incentive for buying Ford trucks in the past. Luckily I found a truck and purchased under MSRP right before all the trucks disappeared from the lots.

OrangeCrush - Yes. Your order with adaptive steering was the data point I remembered that set apart our differing experiences re delivery times.
