The "BEST" color for a tow vehicle might well depend on where the vehicle is used most. Although I would love to have reds and blues and chocolates, in the desert southwest White is the best color for a tow vehicle... not because it is aesthetically pleasing, but because white reflects heat a LOT better than silver or any other color.
I suspect Maine or Montana operators might like black to keep the heat rather than reflect it...
I never even considered a white car until I moved to Hawaii and then New Mexico. The last 5 vehicles I have purchased have been white, including my 2014 Toyota Tundra TV with a matching white Leer tonneau cover.
I like red, but it is really hot in the summer.

If you want something that doesn't show dirt, grey is the color. We have only washed our grey FJ Cruiser once in the past year and it still looks sorta clean. But it won't tow our trailer. Our dirty blue Tundra is still a fine color as is any one I buy.
But what about clear? The body could be made of polycarbonate. it is probably lighter than steel. You could look through the hood at all that cool engine stuff. You could see what is in the truck without opening the doors or looking over the sides of the bed. Of course, with a transparent truck, you couldn't drive naked anymore.

This appears to be simply a black and white issue ... sorry we dropped the ball with silver ...
Silver AS must have a silver-ado, right ... (or possibly a silver-auto???)
