I have a shock replacement question.
Today I'm going to replace both front calipers and brakes, turn rotors and replace front shocks. Anyone know which shocks are best for my 28ft Excella. Also I've replaced rear airbags but it seems like the rear of the Rv is still low. I'm afraid to tow anything like a car. Anyone have this issue. Also I can seem to find any rear shocks???

It seems to me that most folks here on the forum go with the Bilstein brand for the front shocks. Im assuming thats the chevy p30 chassis. Thats what i went with plus a monroe damper. The rear should be inside the leaf springs i believe, thats where mine are anyway. I used the Airlift brand air bags for the front also. Have you checked the condition of your front bags?

Airstream Shock Replacement Video
I just had the shocks replaced on my 2008 27FB Safari at Jackson Center. Airstreams use a unique shock, made by Gabriel, that you must buy from a dealer or Airstream. If you don't live near a dealer Inland RV (west coast) and Out of Doors Mart (east coast) have large parts departments and will ship to you.
There are many Airforums threads discussing shock replacement. Here is a link to one: Shock Replacement
Here is a link to a YouTube video showing how to replace shocks on an Airstream

Unless you go with some kind of an air shock, changing shock absorbers won't lift the rear of your vehicle.

My dad suggested we take it to a spring shop so they can remove old springs and have them rebend and add an additional spring?

Mayco, I had the front air bags replaced about 4 yrs ago. I've put less than 5000 miles on my RV since I bought it in '07.

Hi, I think it would be more clear if the original poster stated that he was talking about a motorhome or posted it in the motorhome section of this forum. [just saying]

I would just order new springs here.
