Sleep Number Mattress (RV-specific R5 short queen radius)

Hello!

Anyone out there using the RV-specific Sleep Number R5 short queen radius mattress for your front or rear queen bed?

A few questions if you have one:

1. Do you like it?
2. Has it held up over time? Any issues to report?
3. Can you still lift the bed platform to access under bed storage?
4. Does it fit on the existing platform same as OEM mattress?
5. Do you mind the height difference as compared to the factory mattress?

It's an expensive mattress at ~$1,500 bucks (best deal seems to be ordering via camping world). I've never slept on one but am considering it the factory mattress, even with a high quality topper just sucks for me and the mrs.

Thanks Airforums!

following..

we put a nice 3" pillow top foam deal from costco i believe on the factory bed and it works out nice.. not too tall but enough to make the somewhat firmish factory bed very comfortable.

not a sleep number but good.

We really like our Sleep Number mattress at home. But it will lose pressure. We’ve replaced the pump but still leaks. I would not like to lose pressure away from shore power. Our generators could supply the power.

response above in red. a couple of other notes: you should lower the pressure to about 20 on both sides when traveling through changes in elevation. when we do not have electric hookups, we use the inverter to pump the mattress to our preferred settings.

Sweet - thanks all!

We ordered an i8 with adjustable base for home and love it. So pulled the trigger on an r5 short queen radius for the airstream.

We’ve got lithium and inverter so we are set for boondocking in comfort
