Easily the best benefit to full-timing...
I picked up 24-hr flu on New Year's Eve, had some chicken noodle soup and hot chocolate, and then spent the night under the blankies 'cuz I had to work New Year's Day. A beautiful thin blanket of that famous dry Utah powder snuck in during the night and laid out a beautiful quiet morning - what a wonderful start to a new year here at Snow Canyon, Utah!

Beautiful photos! Thanks for sharing. The third shot should be your Christmas card next year, and your signature photo. Stunning!

But after getting off work, when you're living in the outdoors, you can just put on a jacket and go off on a late hike to get away from everybody (well, the five other campground visitors that day). The snow lasted just long enough to change up the canyon walls a bit. I haven't been in snow for about 15 years and I forgot just how quiet it gets, even more than the usual absence of man-made noise. The sun was already going down when I started out but I knew I had a nearly full moon to light the way back home, and besides the short hiking trail has become like a newly made friend - just the two of us making believe we are out there all by ourselves. I think I closed down the park trails for the night.

I love the absolute quiet of the Minnesota woods while cross country skiing. The snow makes things quieter I believe, must absorb sound energy. A nice contrasts of photos of the beautiful and the reality of full timing.
