Powered vents

Ready to install a Fantastic Fan. Is there a "hot pigtail" already at the opening or do I have to tap the light circuit? 2006 Standard 25' Safari.

Thanks
Greg

I believe that the fan taps off the hot lead from the light. I don't think they have a seperate circuit for the fan. A good place to look would be the owner's manual. They have the circuit diagrams in detail in the manual.

Only reason I recalled the manual was that I installed a subwoofer in mine over the weekend, and found that the black wire (at least for the pre-wired sub are radio area) was positive, not neg. A few blown fuses later I decided to RTFM and came across the wiring schematics.

Tks for the info, and now - An Ignorant Question:
I wonder if this means that the Airstream standard wiring is to use the normal AC convention of Black = hot, whether it is DC or AC? And by extension, +12VDC is the accepted "hot" lead. I haven't found much wiring information in the Interstate factory manual, in fact it is a little bit sketchy, with lots of cut and paste from OEM sources.
