Fantastic Fan Question

I’m working on my (new to me) 1999 AS Excella 1000. The front light/fan has an issue. I’ve replace the two bulbs, and the light now works. The fan I’m not so sure about. The only switch I’ve found is by the door and only operates the light (as far as I can tell). The handle to the cover was removed and a piece of tape placed on the light cover stating not to open because it won’t close. I can’t find info on this light/fan. The manual only refers to the bedroom fan. I’m already in the process of fixing the bathroom vent (parts on the way), so getting into it doesn’t scare me. Just unsure where to start. Can the light be taken out to access the fan and cover parts from the inside? Do you have to go on top to fix it? Any ideas would be appreciated.

The front fan/light is not a Fantastic fan from the factory. To get the fan to activate you turn the crank to lift the lid and once you get it high enough it will turn on. Most people do replace those fans with Fantastic. We did...
