1999 Safari Emergency Window Leaking

The floor is wet in our back compartment and in the floor in the bathroom. Our best guess is the rear emergency window is leaking into the wall. It is a Creations window and looking at it closely it appears that there is a missing piece of metal in the corner. It looks like it is part of the window assembly and not a replaceable part. Looking at the fixed part of the window and other windows around the trailer it looks like the gasket that is short May be replaceable although the previous owners just chose to caulk it On some of the windows. Are we better off replacing the gasket or caulking it?

For some reason my photos all posted rotated 90° counter clockwise. I am not sure how to edit my original post to correct it.

There is a gasket inside the window, between the actual window and the rv frame, that is prone to leaking. It is a replacement item. I'd check that out.
