Screen Door Latch

My 1989 Excella 29 screen door latch is forever breaking off.

The latch mechanism is a piece of white plastic attached to the aluminum jam. It has a springed roller cylinder within it.

The screen dood edge simply pushes the cylinder in and it releases when door is fully closed, thus holding the screen shut.

(I cannot take a picture because it broke apart again today)

Has anyone found/made a better functioning latch mechanism?

Magnetic maybe?

I don't have your model year, but the catch that you describe sounds a lot like a shower door catch that they sell at hardware stores for about $2.50.
