Bedroom Cable Problems

I have a 2005 25' Safari. The cable in the bedroom doesn't work. It has been checked and the cable is bad. Can the cable easily be replaced? Any suggestions?

How can the cable in a 5 year old trailer be bad? Is it possible that only the end connections are bad and could be replaced? How have you determined the cable is bad?

Don't know how it is routed through the trailer on the newer models but if you can access both ends of the bad cable, you could attach a new piece of cable to the old piece and try to pull the new one into place using the same path the old one lived in. It would be critical to have as smooth a connection (to prevent it from getting snagged on obstructions in the wall) and a really solid connection that won't come apart with all your tugging. Some cable has housing on it that is more flexible than others--you don't want it anymore rigid than necessary.

Sure hope someone else more familiar with the layout of a 2005 Safari chimes in and offers a better solution because mine is a last resort option and the chances for failure are high.

we checked all connections & found ok. we moved cable on junction box to other legs still no go. run cable from juction box on flour & tv worked. ohmed cable & found open. don't know if it ever worked since we bought camper used & just now tried tv in bedroom. the cable is tied on both ends, but don't know if is clamped somewhere in route. I would like to put new cable on & pull . thanks.

Hi.. welcome to the forums..

I had a bad cable in mine too. Not sure how your cable is run but mine was located in the rear curbside fresh water hookup cabinent. I pulled everything apart only to find that it was pretty easy to get that cable through without pulling everything apart.. I will try to find the link to some pictures I posted..

Thanks, mine is on street side & it appears to run toward back of camper, don't know if runs around back of camper or not. the junction box is on curb side in front of camper. there is a leg for the cable connection. don't know if it picks up with it or not . book shows seperate cables.
Thanks.
