What size do I need?

I'm going to replace my Univolt with the Intellicharge (sp). I thinking I need the 60 amp, not the 80 amp for my 67 Tradewind. Am I correct? I don't want to under power. Thanks.

I bought a 60 for our 34'. The 55W Magnetek was enough, and the 80 is a lot larger than the 60 and would be tight under the couch. Haven't got around to installing it yet though.

Why replace?

Maurice:

You just got my curiosity up! When people replace things on a relatively new unit it's generally because of known problems with the item replaced. These charger/converters normally last a long time. Should I be concerned with my 2000 30' Excella?

The only reason I got the new unit was that with the Charge Wizard, it has a boost mode so it requires less generator run time. It also floats at 13.2V rather than 13.8V, which should cause less loss of water from the batteries. I've had the 34 plugged in for a year and a half now, and haven't had a problem with that checking the electrolyte every 2-3 months.
