The point is that no matter how you use the plugs, you will get 10 amps out of each plug or 20 amps out of both combined but they do not have to be tied together. I thought so and looked for the adapter but either way, the generator will be capable of 20 amps out of both OR EITHER plug. The adapter just adapts the trailer plug to the 20 amp plug - not allowing more draw.
Hi, at one time, I considered replacing the duplex plate on my generator with a new one [so I could return it back to stock if I ever wanted to] and to remove the duplex outlet, and replace it with a single RV 30 Amp receptacle. Then use an adapter if I wanted to use a 20 Amp plug for things other than my trailer. Obviously, not to get 30 Amps, but just a better RV power cord connection.
