Honda's New EU2000ik

APRIL 1 – Honda announced the latest version of the popular EU-series inverter model super-quiet portable generators, the EU2000iK. This innovative model eliminates traditional pull-starter and replaces it with a simple and effective kick-starter. “We realized we had a warehouse full of old motorcycle parts just sitting there. It only took the engineering team a quick trip to the hardware store for some clamps, and a new model was born” said Engineering Manager Pat Chitup. Again, that release date is APRIL FIRST.

I also heard they have a new model with a 110 volt electric start.

What makes it so amusing is that, with proper engineering— and proper ergonomics to make sure you don't tip it over trying to start it— that could conceivably work.

...and if you have two generators, would you make them counter-rotating so you could jump off you step and start them both?

Probably not, but you could make the companion generator a left-handed model by putting the kick-starter on the opposite side.

What they don't mention here is the accessories: A metal frame, two wheels, a seat and handlebars.

I've got one of these new Honda generators, and I can say that it works as advertised. I store it in the yard with our solar clothes dryer.

Are you saying that it can be plugged into itself to start.
