umbilical connection trailer side

I have searched and haven't seen much for what people are replacing their trailer side receptacle and umbilical trailer end? the factory receptacle is very rough looking on my 77 sovereign and i plan on replacing the very rough umbilical so i want to do it all in one shot. If you have replaced your receptacle please share the one you used an maybe some pictures.

Thanks

When we rebuilt our 58 I used the following:

Hopkins 7 way plug because it has the led lights so I can confirm the connection is good.

For the cable I used ABS Trailer cable for the heavier gauge wires. I have EOH disc brakes from Tuson RV.

The only issue is that cable diameter is a little larger than the hole in the connector so you'll have to trim it down a little.

They still make Pollack recepticals and plugs. eTrailer sells them. You could just swap out the old plug. The other option is to hardwire the AS end and patch over the hole where the old receptacle was.

Cheers,

John

Hope this helps. Go to High Sky Parts. Some times slow but they had it for me. I have ‘76 31’ and it works great.

I have the same plug on my GT needs changing, but it won’t happen until it stops working!
