How do we replace ceiling lights in a 2007 Safari SE?
Hello,
There must be an easy way to replace the canister lights in the ceiling fixtures. These lights are pretty much flush with the ceiling. What is the trick to getting the bulb out? All I managed to do was push a bulb in a bit
Yes, but to get to the light bulb requires the same technique.
Here's the pertinent quote from the posting that I was trying to link:
"As shown, the inner metal ring containing the glass lens is pried loose and partially out, with difficulty using the finger nails (to avoid scratches on the metal), and then easily pried out using a flat blade screwdriver.
Once the LED is installed, the 2 wide opposing slots (see photo of lens rim on black pillow) in the rim tabs of the inner metal ring must match up and fit over the 2 fixture support bars (seen in bottom left photo at 7:00 of the rim space) to allow the metal rim to be matched and pushed back into the fixture."
Note to moderators: Is there currently a problem with the forum's ability to make correct links?
Just came back from the barn and this worked!!! Thank you so much I used my Creative Memories plastic letter position-er (I call it the artificial finger nail) and narry a mark on the ceiling.
One light that I though was burned out magically turned on when I unsnapped the ring.
I am late to this party but want to pick the BRAINS of the AS Forum. Is there a source to replace these halogens with halogens? My wife has found papers on the potential cancer causing properties of LED. ( WHO KNOWS!) But "She Who Must Be Obeyed" prefers halogen. Anyone??
