Best LED light strips for outside?

Looking to place 16 foot LED strip on outside to tie into door light. Any suggestions for good buys?

I would consider the marine waterproof strips.

I used this vender when I upgraded all the lights on our '06 Burb, great quality & good customer service.

I noticed some of those on that site are listed as waterproof. I’ve probably been getting the wrong ones. They’re about half the price and last about a season before the water invades the strip and shorts them out. At $20 a season, it’s not awful but I may try me some real waterproof ones and see what the difference is.

Checked them out. They have some interesting options including channels with opaque covers. Made me wonder why there’s not an option of an LED strip embedded in belt line trim?

I know - not everyone’s cup of tea.

I have a strip on top of the belt line - seems having it as the belt line would be a fun option.

it you used the 30 LED low density version ( not the 60 or 120 LED high dentistry model), you could add them to the belt line.
if done, you probably want to limit the voltage so that they are not too bright

Me? I mean the middle. I use a strip on the top of that moulding (with the awning open, it lights up the seating area under the awning). I know many people would hate this idea - but having it AS the beltline strip could be fun.

Waterproof? I see "Weatherproof". Same thing? No.
I've looked at them and they are given a rating. The best seem to be IP-54 in the LED strips. So the first digit is dust resistant
(5) Protected against dust limited ingress, no harmful deposits.
The second digit is water resistant rating
(4) Protected against water splashed from all directions, limited ingress permitted.

My concern is that any strip lights under the trailer or on the rub rail get very wet driving in a rainstorm.
I see LoLoHo added LED strips behind the rock guards. That's probably a good area. Under the body???
The good news is the strips are inexpensive, so if one goes out it's not a major expense.

I added an LED strip above my cabinet in the front. Since its powered by USB, I drilled a small hole in the cabinet top and get power from the cabinet with the DVD.
At first I thought it was too much, but I've come to love the indirect lighting. Nothing shows unless you're 7' tall.

I have an New extra LED dimmable OME Strip that Airstream uses. It’s just the self adhesive strip. It’s whiteish blue. These strips where fastened in the aluminum awning wrap.

I bought some waterproof Korjo car under-glow LED lights 6pcs also bought Xprite 6ft 3 pin extension and a switch to turn it off and on so it would not drain the battery on amazon. Looks amazing. I use GorlliaGlue waterproof double sided tape in addition, as the online reviews always advise the provided tape is deficient. Maybe spent $50 for the lights and another $40 for the switch, tape, extensions.

I installed two strings of LEDs strips under the edges of the Airstream. They are controlled by a remote-controlled power supply located in the same front compartment as other electronics.

Great when backing into a dark campsite. Really like how they light up the area but do not blind my neighbors. Can dim down to just a moon light glow.



The LEDs are in self-adhesive clusters of three lights each connected by 6 inches of two conductor wire.

Looks a little like something from War of the Worlds.

Battery operated and magnetic. I used double sided tape to mount a couple of steel discs to each awning arm where they get mounted in the evening.
