Finally getting around to filling the propane tanks & checking out the hot water tank (1st time since purchasing ‘79 Argosy last summer). The HW tank was replaced in 2008.
The drain plug appears quite corroded... is this normal? Cleaned up the threads and didn’t leak after opening up the lines & filling the tank with city water. Broke out the manual on how to cleanse the tank...maybe there’s details there.
Pilot eventually lit but tank wouldn’t stay on. Is all the corrosion on the gas line/pilot here going to be a problem?
Seemed to be lots of air in the hot water lines after filling the tank and running for awhile. Sounded like chitty-chitty-bang-bang ...more reading to do.
