Need this plumbing piece and info for 71
I hit a low spot and broke off the end of my discharge pipe on my 71. I have the pieces. So I am looking for a replacement or advice on gluing.
Is this PVC or ABS?
What glue will work
The part in question is the top ring in the photo just below the belly pan. The part below is a Thetford to Valterra adapter which is not in question. Photo was taken before the damage.
It is still servicable with a friction type Slinky end, But I would like to at least glue the broken pieces back.
Of course, a undamaged replacement would be the best solution, but I don't know if they are still made.
Thanks.

Had the same connection as yours 1977 argosy
I replaced mine with a heal 90* and did away with a valterra connection no adapter needed now and it's higher off ground than the original connections

Am I correct this glue will also glue ABS to ABS and PVC to PVC.
I still have not found anybody, even at Thetford, to tell me if the piece is ABS or PVC.

In my plumbing days as a contractor, ABS was always black and PVC was always white.
ABS: This black pipe is most commonly used for drain, waste and vent applications (DWV). It's joined with ABS cement, which is black. PVC: PVC pipe is white, and is most commonly used for exterior applications such as sprinklers.Apr 22, 2011

ABS can be white (or ivory) and black, I am quite sure thetford valves are ABS. Many interior parts on 70s and newer trailers are ABS plastic.

Sherman, if you are looking for the collar with the nobs to attach the bayonet fitting, they should be still available. I seem to remember seeing them sitting on the shelf at work.
