Installing holding tank flush system on a vintage trailer?

Every now and then I think about installing a flushing system on my holding tanks, like what is found on modern RVs.

If anyone has done this and has some photos of the job they can post, or perhaps a link, I'd like to check them out.

We added a Tornado tank sprayer on our black tank when we did our restoration, Our trailer had no tanks, no interior skins and no floor at the time, so we added the new tanks while everything was apart. We could get to all sides to line things up so it was easy-ish to do. I don't know how you would do it if the tank is "in place"...or it isn't "perfectly clean" so the glue sets. Might be tricky...

Thanks for the replies.

The Flush King looks like the simple way to go, though I might need an adapter since my outlet connection is Thetford and I'll be the FK fits the more common Valterra.

You might consider the method I've been using for decades:
  • Dump the black tank first (found out that Airstream calls it the 'Main')
  • Leave the black valve open.
  • Open the gray valve and quickly reach down and lift the dump hose above the level of the fitting, so the gray water washes into the black tank.
  • Count to about 30.
  • Drop the dump hose to the ground and quickly close the gray valve, leaving the black open.
  • Give the black plenty of time to empty.
Repeat twice, then close the black valve and open the gray, thereby flushing the dump hose.

Hope that works for you as well as it has for me...

Sewer Solution system is very effective at tank flushing. Just twist the lever to send a jet of water into the tank or pump stuff out of it. Does take a fair amount of water. No moving parts and does not seem to clog either.
