Plumbing Question...

I installed a new water pressure regulator, but I need to know the psi to set it at. Thanks!!!!

How do you know what its set to without a guage of some sort?

IIRC, most of these are set to 40lbs or so. I believe that is what the simple hose-end regulators are fixed at; all you "need" to set it to is something less than your pipes are rated for...or, 5 lbs less than that pop-off valve in the pic.

seriously, 40-50lbs is probably fine.

The 72 service manual we have says 32 to 38 pounds - set pressure with all valves closed (duh). We also use a hose end regulator that Chuck mentioned above - just for overkill - it's preset at 40.
