Better Than Shurflo Water Inlet?
Hi,
Been on the road almost 3 years and replaced my second Shurflo water inlet that was leaking again.
Kinda ridiculous..... Any options?
I'd rather have a straight in inlet and use a seperate pressure regulator. Is that possible?
Thanks!
Trav

The older Airstreams have just a straight in copper connection. I use a quick connect on mine and it works great. Of course mine is located under the rear bumper where it is hidden. The newer trailers are flush mounted on the side wall and a quick connect will protrude as would a 90 degree elbow. I would think that the weight of a hose and water filter and external regulator pushing down on the plastic water inlet causes it to fail.

Hi, been watching a guy do a really nice Sprinter conversion, he showed me a brand called Aquor, all my trailers going forward will have this and I may even retrofit this to the '68. He's had it in full operation for about 6 months and really likes it. That said, his use is really nothing like full timing or being hooked up and "on" 24/7. Pressure regulation is possible at any point in the chain. I now do it right at the tap to take any possible strain off the rest of my system. I also have a cheap ($10) pressure gauge that goes on any garden hose fitting to measure pressure.
Good luck, Mark D

Works fine here on three different devices: phone, laptop, and PC.

I just tried the link using Chrome on my android phone. Doesn't work there either.
Tomorrow, I will try using the Airforums.com website on a laptop using Chrome.

I was trying to post a link specifically about changing to a brass, inlet—but the link just provided includes the mod as well so that covers it.

Thanks for these links. If the dealer can’t fix my situation at the shakedown appointment, I will probably make this modification.
As it stand my ‘23 FC isn’t allowing enough city water pressure to even turn the water heater on.

The links are really wonky, they seem to work a little different depending on which device I use.
At least you were able to save another Airstreamer from this issue.

ShurFlo has been good to me
A lot of speculation that the weight of the hose is cracking the ShurFlo inlet. Maybe. Going on 7 years with my Shurflo inlet and no problems.
I always coil up any extra hose, and hang it over the bumper beside the inlet. So there is never any water weight on the hose pulling down on the connection. I do it more to keep the hose out of the dirt, but it probably reduces strain on the fitting.
