Cutting down a ZIP DEE

Hi! I recently purchased a 24' TradeWind (1965) and I wanted to add an awning and found a used one at a very reasonable price compared to the cost of a new one but it is of a '32 Sovereign (1967) ... Do you think it is possible to cut it down? Will the structure fit the body? anyone have better insight on this..

Thank you in advance!

Cutting the length certainly seems doable. The spring is in one end, the other just goes along for the ride. You'll obviously need a way to sew up the new hem on the cut end, but that shouldn't be a problem.
