Closed Awning

While closing my zop dee awning it got away from me and the pull tab got rolled up with the awning. I can't manage to open the awning enough to access the pull tab and get it out. My awning is stuck in the closed position now. Any advice?

Two people each standing on a stool or ladder, unwind the roller while moving the main arms away from the trailer.

Large pair of channel locks. Grip the metal roller at one end where it protudes from the fabrics. Turn the roller with the channel locks and unroll it a bit. When I roll it up now I put the curved end of the rod, the end you hold, through the loop in the awning and let it close most of the way. Then switch ends.

If you think about what happens when you pull on the loop, the arms come out with the roller. Simply do the opposite, with a person for each arm, reach up as high as possible and pull out on the arms, roller will follow. I've had mine get away from me.

Worst case combine these 2, a person on each end on stool/ladder, one of them with said large pair of channel lock pliers (large means 15" or larger can be found at Home Depot, Harbor Freight, ect...).

Put a piece of rope on each awning head. Two people can pull the awning out.
