Does this look like remnant clear coat?

Hello all. I知 currently in the process of renovating a 78 sovereign. I知 using f9 by nuvite to do my initial polish. To my knowledge I have removed all of the clear coat on the exterior aluminum with citristrip and a pressure washer. I am getting dark patches that look splotchy and unlike the areas around them. Going back over these areas with 2 more passes of the polisher did not yield better results.

As for my technique, I am using a wool pad at 600 to 800 rpm, being sure to move at about 1 - 2 inches per second. As for the compound, I am putting one penny sized dab every 6 inches or so, working in 18 x 18 inch sections.

Any idea what these dark splotches are? I assumed they may be remnants of clear coat, but I wanted a second opinion before I wheel my rig out in the cold to re-wash.

See attached photo for reference. I have included an up close photo of the area, as well as a wider angle for reference. The problem area is located under the curbside wing window in this photo.

Thanks for your time!

-Brandon.
