Prodex and noise

Has anyone who has used Prodex have any knowledge on sound barrier and if Prodex works on lowering sound?

That is the most poorly structured sentence ever, but I am too rushed to fix it.

Thank you

It's claim to fame would not include being a good sound barrier

Not going to help much with sound. Denim insulation is pretty good at sound deadening.

I added 1/2" R-Max panel as an inner layer to help with sound insulation, worked well.

Here are two other questions: is the R-max panel foam board? I looked it up but couldn't get a clear answer.

2nd: with denim insulation for sound, can critters get in and nest? We had the yellow fluffy stuff (asbestos, yes) and there were mice nests everywere when we took it out. We don't want to use the pink stuff because of that reason and if it gets wet it sags and stinks.

Anyone have experience with either of these?

Thanks...

R-max is a stiff foam, foil on one side and blue paper on the other

I used three layers of prodex to insulate my whole Airstream while I was doing my shell-off and I am in the brand new Airstreams daily that have the Ecobatt insulation daily for work. I don't notice much of a difference in sound deadening between the two.
