Nervous newbie found square hole cutout in floor beneath the shower drain pipe. Is this normal? Should it be covered up? Seems like an issue on a rainy day while on the road.
No photo showing. I covered all the holes I could find with AC Aluminum Duct Tape in hopes of reducing the number uninvited criters getting in the trailer.

I think that the photo is now attached. Sorry, new to forum posting.
Not normal, but not necessarily bad. It appears someone needed to do repair work on the shower trap. You do need to cover it securely with wood or metal. It is an access for unwanted long tail guests.

We found evidence of mice when we dewinterized our 23D so i went under the trailer to find any place a mouse could get into the trailer. I found a similar hole under our shower. It looked like it had a cover over it previously (we bought the trailer last fall) but it had fallen off. We had some work done on the low point drain by the dealer before our last trip of the year and I'm sure (I hope) they would have mentioned this at that time so it must have come off during that trip. I purchased a piece of aluminum from Home Depot and riveted it in place then sealed it with RTV.

Either work needed to be done on the trap or the trap goes below floor level slightly requiring cut out for clearance. A small piece of sheet aluminum screwed up there with some sealant around the edges will fix it adequately. A PO may have forgotten to winterize the shower trap at some point causing it to crack and leak requiring repairs.
