Help using original Awning

All,

I just purchased a 1968 22' Safari and has an original Awning which hardware/arms looks to be in very good condition.

I want to open it and just wondering if someone who has used these awnings can please explain the process.

I see 2 bolts on both the legs which I assume keeps the legs up against trailer when Awning not in use. And I believe it is a spring system so that awning rolls back up when stored?

Just not quite sure how to get it started and locked into position.

**Any help appreciated!

Your awning looks similar to the Carefree-brand awning installed on my '67 Overlander back in the day. But I think yours is a different brand. Anyway, maybe the directions which came on my original awning will help you.
