Drawer removal from Globetrotter U shaped dinette

Hi All - Thanks for all the great posts from all on the forum.

We have a 2022 Globetrotter and I am attempting to remove the two drawers that support the U-shaped dinette to make more usable storage. Pictures below.

We always have the U shaped dinette setup and can’t use the drawer space below for storage. We use the table top to support weight under the cushions vs the drawers so I don’t feel they will be missed.

When I fully extend the drawer I can’t seem to find any release latch. Can anyone help point me to the right way to remove the drawer?

Thanks again !

I would just unscrew those three screws if you don’t get an answer. That’s just me though.

A mystery…

Hey r3z. Our 2022 GT happens to be out of storage and in front of the house as we prepare for a short trip. I just checked to see how to release the drawer glide, sure it would be obvious. It is not! Was also trying to read the name of the manufacturer to do some research but was unable to read it.

If the mfr is readable on yours, suggest a YouTube search.

Good luck!

Also, very interested in how you intend to use the space as we use the 1/2 table to span the space for the u-shaped configuration too.

I had a similar problem with a different trailer and drawer and called Airstream tech support. They were able to help.

Can you pull the wider section of the slide forward to reveal a tab at the rear ?

Under the seat cushion there is an access panel on each side to get access to the drawer slides. Our 25' fbt GT is this setup.

Thanks for the input everyone ! The drawer is as far out as it can go and I tried moving the larger rail with no luck. I can unscrew the wood but was hoping for a more elegant solution otherwise I will use a shim for
support and a screwdriver for removal .

As a next step I will check for access panels for access to a latch from the back. If not then call Airstream to see how it works out - I am quite intrigued and hear wonderful things.

My long term plan was to take the face off the drawer, put hinges on the bottom (floor side), and add catch latch on top. For the short term I will be happy with putting a few plastic storage bins I can more easily pull out and use. I did see the rear of one of the marker lights in there so it will be important to protect it somehow. Maybe more wood to keep it separate and prevent anything from hitting it.

Thank you! I did find this access panel but still could not figure out how to get this last screw removed without removing the screws attaching the rails to the drawer. I have attached pics of the screw with the drawer out and still attached at its fully extended position.

I’m hoping to move the subwoofer to the curb side drawer location to save space in the other storage compartment closest to the door as a start.
