Thanks for the input everyone ! The drawer is as far out as it can go and I tried moving the larger rail with no luck. I can unscrew the wood but was hoping for a more elegant solution otherwise I will use a shim for
support and a screwdriver for removal

As a next step I will check for access panels for access to a latch from the back. If not then call Airstream to see how it works out - I am quite intrigued and hear wonderful things.
My long term plan was to take the face off the drawer, put hinges on the bottom (floor side), and add catch latch on top. For the short term I will be happy with putting a few plastic storage bins I can more easily pull out and use. I did see the rear of one of the marker lights in there so it will be important to protect it somehow. Maybe more wood to keep it separate and prevent anything from hitting it.
