Down with crap, up with convenience! (BAL stabilizers)

So I finally got $300 tired of wallowing around under the trailer to set and remove the old-school stabilizers that came with our Argosy.

I've got the front pair done... I would have had all four done today, but a) I forgot an all-important item for drilling metal above my head (goggles) b) 2 of the self-tapping hex-head screws were AWOL... probably lost through one of the holes in the box, since most of the rest were roaming freely in the packaging, and c) I got called to work just as I realized those 2 items were missing, so I burned a few hours working and then had to go get goggles and screws.

If someone was watching me after I got the first one finished and cycled it up and down with my drill they might have been concerned about the maniacal laughter.

Funny, little dude, with the maniacal laugh .

Had two rip off this current SS and I just sway to sleep in the sustained 60-mph winds of Texas Coastal Bend late spring storms . . it's the twenty-minutes of hail that makes the experience too real to ignore.

If I were actually a little dude it might not have been such a pain to use the old-school stabilizers.

$300 is only temporary. Good stabilizer jacks....priceless. But they will come a knocking, cause your Argosy won't be a rocking. Just saying...

Aahh, so you're sorta like the safety supervisor I ran into on a drilling rig the other day? Hasn't seen his you-know-what since he was eight . . . but he had the cleanest FRC's and boots on the place. Not a white guy, but a pink guy, about two minutes after leaving the A/C. Add 150-lbs to John Candy, but delete the intelligence, not just the humor.

Are you thinking about drilling your way upwards to that furnace? Just drop it out the bottom and claim you're installing Wally Byam convective floor vents?

REDNAX: I haven't quite attained the profile you describe. I'd say I'm well shy of John Candy but well past John Ratzenberger. Still, on a hot day after fiddling around with all the other setup stuff, crawling around to set those cruel old stabilizers didn't contribute to a better mood for the first night at a site!

I should have worded that differently. Hell, bending over to affix something like this problem pains me (literally) and I'm 6'2" 180-lbs . . on a good day. Short torso with arms and legs too long. The ground is a looong way down some evenings.

I removed the 4x8 sheet of plywood that protected me from the stones during the installation. I may be chunky but I ain't stupid.

Stabilizers? Setting those is women's work - and she doesn't use a drill!

DKB most folks on here don't know what FRC's are, unless you spend most of your time in the oil patch.

My wife usually does ours, too. I got her the socket to put in the drill, though. Anything to make it more fun for her.
