Beeping C02 detector

2018 International has the C02 detector chirping every hour or so with windows open and no propane being burned. Assumed it just needed a battery replacement. Battery looks like a rechargeable AA battery but does not want to come out of its clip, almost lime it is soldered in?

Any advice on how to resolve?

Thanks

Hi

The typical RV has a propane detector down close to the floor ( propane sinks ) and a smoke / fire detector up high ( smoke rises ). The smoke detector often has a 9V battery in it. The propane detector wires directly to the trailer batteries. Both can be fooled by various things. If it's broke, the only "fix" for the propane detector is to replace it.

First of all it's a CO (Carbon Monoxide) detector.

If it has a battery that's rechargeable and fixed in place, it's probably there only as a "backup" in the event of power failure. The unit is probably hardwired to the 12V system and isn't receiving the power it needs so the "backup" battery has been depleted. I'd check all fuses and circuit breakers to be sure there is power to the unit.

That said, the life expectancy is 5 to 7 years from date of manufacture of the detector so it may be time to replace the CO detector anyways.

I have a 2017. I had to replace mine this year. Pretty simple. You can order them online at Amazon.
